A report by TrendForce shows that due to the U.S. plan to raise import tariffs on goods from Mexico, leading TV brands such as Samsung, LG, TCL, and Hisense have accelerated North American shipments since late 2024. This pushed Q1 2025 off-season shipments to 45.59 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%. Annual shipments for the first half of the year are expected to reach 94.18 million units, a 3.8% year-on-year growth. However, manufacturers with insufficient production capacity in Mexico may face challenges such as cost (cost pass-through) in the second half of the year if they fail to relocate production and supply chains before the end of Q2. Shipments are projected to decline to 102.27 million units, a 4.5% year-on-year decrease. Global TV shipments for the full year are expected to drop 0.7% to 196.44 million units.
